Review: OPI Nail Envy

When I was in school, I had the best nails! My nails were long, strong and grew really fast. Then I started working. Working in retail ruins your whole life. My nails would break, they got really thin, they would peel.

So I neglected my nails for about 3 years because I gave up hope.

Then I started to watch nail tutorials on YouTube and a lot of Americans were talking about Nail Envy.

I am so happy I found Nail Envy! I purchased a sample from eBay and I am so happy I did. Within two applications, my nails were stronger, they were growing and they just looked healthy! After I finished the sample, which lasted just over a month, I decided to buy the full size OPI Nail Envy. I purchased the original (green writing) and the Matte (blue writing).

I recommend everyone to use this. If you have strong nails or weak nails, Nail Envy is amazing. The Matte version even makes it possible for guys to wear it without worrying about looking like they have a manicure!

In the directions it says to apply two coats of Nail Envy before applying a colour (if you want) and then put one coat on every other day, then start again after a week. I only followed this for the first month. When my nails started to get stronger, I only applied one coat rather than the recommended two coats.

There are also other versions of Nail Envy that are recommended for certain nail problems such as; Nail Envy for soft & thin nails, Dry & Brittle nails and sensitive & peeling nails.

The only problem with Nail Envy is the price. I didn’t have a problem with paying for them but when I told my sister how much I paid, she thought I was mad. But only until she started using it! I also found a great offer on Amazon! So look around and compare prices before you buy Nail Envy!

Hope it helps you as much as it helped me!

Review: MAC Studio Fix (Powder)

I believe I discovered make up at a good age. I’ve known people that started wearing make up when they were 15. I started wearing only eye make up, when I was 17.

I’ve always sworn against foundation. Maybe because I already have clear skin. But I think wearing foundation makes your skin worse. It clogs your pores and if you already have spots it doesn’t make them disappear, it just makes them the same colour as the rest of your skin!

But, as I have an oily T-zone, I was advised by my friends to start using powder. I bought MAC Studio Fix, (NC44.5 is my colour), and although it gets rid of my oiliness when I put it on, it has also managed to clog up my pores. It is great that it actually gets rid of my oily T-zone but I refuse to use it unless I am going out.

But I am amazed that I found any skin product that matches my skin tone exactly! I use Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse foundation (Caramel) as a concealer under my eyes, and even that doesn’t match my skin tone as good as the NC44.5 MAC Studio Fix powder.

So, here is my skin routine in case any of you were wondering.

I use the Botanic Cleanser, Toner and Oil free moisturiser. Then I apply Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse foundation around my eyes. I’ll do whatever eye-look I feel like doing, then I apply my lipstick/lip-tint. Then if I am going out somewhere nice, I’ll apply my MAC Studio Fix powder. Then if I want some blush, I’ll put some on.

I would recommend MAC Studio Fix Powder. But not for everyday use unless you are already used to wearing foundation everyday. If you don’t know what NC number matches your skin, ask for help in a MAC store. The first colour the sales assistant picked up was the right colour, but the ones I picked up were too dark or too light. Don’t be shy! Ask for help!

Disclaimer: I am not a make up artist, in fact I am the complete opposite. I have not been asked to review any of the items I have mentioned in this review. I am only reviewing on my own accord.

Review : Botanic (Boots)

Skin care is very important to me. I have always had clear skin that I want to maintain.

I haven’t used a lot of skin products but the best one I’ve tried is the Botanics range. It is a range of all natural skin care products that is avaliable at Boots (drugstore).

I have tried the eye make-up remover, cleanser, toner, day cream, & no oil moisturizer. All products are amazing.

I have partually oily skin (mostly my nose) so the day cream was probably the least helpful. It still remains to be an amazing product.

My skin is brighter, less patchy (different skin tones), less oilyer (is that spelt right? Is it even a word?!) & my skin is much smoother.

The cleanser is very pleasing because you do not use it with water. Water in England is a bit rough, so it tends to dry out my skin. I prefer not to use water on my face unless I have to. You apply the cleanser onto cotton wool & simply wipe your face. You will see stuff on the cotton wool that you would not believe came from your face! The Toner should be used in the same way after the cleanser to pick up anything left behind.

I would especially recommend the cleanser & toner but, the other products in the Botanic range are worth buying. Botanics has a good price & are usually on a ‘2 for 3’ offer.
