One year on.

This time last year, I was on my way to what I didn’t realise would be the most amazing place I had ventured to before. Seoul, South Korea.

Every day & night for a whole month, I had a great time. Trying new foods, stumbling across Soju and Makgeolli, wondering around, and meeting amazing people. Not only did I enjoy discovering Korean culture and meeting Korean people, a big part of my time in Korea and at Hanyang International Summer Schoo(HISS) was meeting people from all around the world. I made great friends who I will never forget and hope to meet again in the near future.

It is hard to forget anything which happened in Korea last summer, and I hope I never do. I can picture my room clearly and even remember the sound the lock used to make when my door closed! I learnt a lot while attending HISS, academically and personally. I miss my Media in Korea & Korean Language classes sooooo much!

I met truly amazing people during my time at HISS. Although we don’t stay in touch as much as I would like, you have a special place in my heart and I am glad I can share such great memories with you all.

When asked what was my favourite thing about my time in Korea, I can’t name one. The experience as a whole was and still is indescribable. My least favourite part was saying goodbye. Packing just 1 hour before I had to leave my dorm and saying a tearful goodbye to Ethan, who I will never forget and hope to see again soon.

A year on, I am still studying Korean language! This will be a big surprise to my fellow Korean language students!! I am planning my return to Korea after I graduate in November and I have become accustom to the taste of Soju and still drink it! (despite it being really expensive in London)!

I’m hopeful that I am not the only one who cherishes Korea dearly. I hope that July 2012 will always have a place in your heart, like it does in mine. It’s great to see that some of you have now graduated and are having new experiences and even travelling the world (Kesiha I am so jealous!).

To sum up, I am glad that I met people who are so open-minded adventurous and unique. I think of Korea everyday and although I love Korean culture, my view of Korea wouldn’t be the same if I hadn’t met such outstanding people.

I truly hope to meet all of you again! How did this year go by so fast?!?!

I’m thinking reunion next year?! =D

Prince Harry vs The Sun

I know everyone is writing about Prince Harry, but today I decided that I need to say something. And what better way to say it in a lovely blog post!

Tonight, as my mum was watching the news, I heard the reporter say that The Sun, are going to publish the naked photos that were taken of Prince Harry in Vegas. In my mind, there were 1000 bells ringing because I think there are so many problems with The Sun publishing this photo.

The Sun stated that: “We are publishing the photos because we think Sun readers have a right to see them. The reasons for that go beyond this one story.”

I believe that although, yes the public want to see the pictures of Harry, they have many other ways of seeing these photos without having it published in British Newspapers. Not only that, but, Prince Harry naked was yesterday’s news. If they wanted to publish it because they think that the public deserve to see it and we are too dumb to go on to the internet and search it ourselves, they would have published it yesterday, or today. Why tomorrow? I think The Sun just wants to humiliate Harry more than he has already been.

Yes I know, as a Royal he shouldn’t be taking part in such activities, but he is 27 and a human, he deserves to have fun and if being naked is the way he wants to have fun, so be it.

The main reason I have decided to write this post is pretty simple. If The Sun publishes the photos of Harry, it shows the rest of the world that British newspapers and Journalists do not respect Prince Harry or the Royal family for that matter. As a nation, we should be most accepting of Harry, even when he makes mistakes, we should protect him and that means, not publish his naked photo.

Now I am all for Press freedom, but really, I don’t think there can be total Press freedom as it would probably cause more problems than it’ll solve. And humiliating a member of our Royal family, does not make British media look good.

I suppose we all have the right to see the photos of Harry if we want to, so it is not necessary for it to be published in a popular British Newspaper. It just magnifies the quality difference between Tabloid and Broadsheet newspapers.

A night with Passion.

For those of you who have not read The Empty Suitcase Prjoect, please read (and watch the videos) first!

(Ignore my fatness!!)

It has been 2 years since Jeremy ‘Passion’ Manongdo visited London. Luckily he decided to come back this year! Jeremy is now doing a small tour called ‘The tour that could’, where he will visit; London, England; Gothenburg, Sweden; Oslo, Norway; Arnhem, Netherlands; The Hague, Netherlands;  Brussels, Belgium; Bern, Switzerland; Lyon, France; Roissy en Brie, France & back to London, England. The tour started on the 31st of March in London.

I purchased a ticket and went along to the show on Saturday. It was amazing.

I have been listening to Jeremy for about two years now. I’ve always thought he has one of the best voices I’ve heard, but he is something else live! When he was singing, the whole crowd was silent. He has the ability to make everybody stop and just listen.

He gave, what was to me, an emotional show. He performed; 32, Well Done & A Reason for Everything, which are all songs written for/about his family members. It was amazing to hear where his inspiration comes from since he inspires me so much.

He also sang some falsetto! He nailed Climax by Usher! Every girl (some of the guys too) went weak at the knees! (Including me! haha)

After Jeremy performed (with a demanded encore), a meet and greet was set up. Almost everyone in the venue waited behind to see him. I decided to wait until the end because then I feel a little less like a fan-girl and a little bit more like a professional (Yeah right! I just wanted more time with him!). I was shocked and super happy when he recognised me! He remembered my blog about the empty suitcase project and because AJ Rafael tweeted him to say that I am sweet (Eeeek!).

Anyway, I asked him if I can interview him next time he is back and London (the end of April) and he said yes! So, that will be coming to my blog early May! =]

So, now (more than ever), stay tuned!
