Interesting!

Yesterday I wemt to a Korean language meet up event in London. It was my second time attending. The first time I met some cool people. This time I met an amazing guy!!

Now, at first I was like ‘yeah this guys cool’ but when we started speaking and he told me about his life, I was amazed!
I should probably ask permission to write his story as a blog post but I’m going to do it anyway!

I will call him, Jae because I don’t want to use his real name.

Jae’s grandparents escaped from North Korea when they were young. They found empty land in Incheon, South Korea, and decided to make it thier own. They built a farm and had children, Jae’s mum or dad.

Jae’s mum & dad stayed on the farm and had Jae! He lived on the farm until he was a young teenager and his first memory was seeing a headless chicken moving that his mum had just killed.

His family relocated to LA. He lived in LA for 17 years! He then came to London and has been living here for 3 years with a sucessful business and a beautiful apartment!

This guy had an interesting story. But not only that, he was so fun to talk to! We spent the whole night together, just talking about the most random things! I haven’t clicked with someone that fast and so easily in a long time. It was refreshing!

He has lived in my top 3 favourite places to live. LA: doesn’t everyone?! Korea: where do I begin?! London: Just home. My home.

I hope we stay friends for a long time! Hopefully I’ll find more interesting stories about his life & I’ll blog about them!

Dreams

I don’t know why people think it’s okay to doubt your dreams.

I want to live in LA after university. I want to be a presenter or an investigative journalist, I want to fall in love like how it happens in movies & fairytales.

If you asked me what I want to do after university, listen to me. I didn’t ask you to tell me how impossible my dreams are so please, keep your negative thoughts to yourself.

I know it’s hard to make it in LA, but I’d rather struggle to get the job I love, than be in a job I don’t have the most passion for.
I know I’m a mummys’ girl & I find it hard to think about living without her, but she encourages me & it gives me tge strength to plan out & act on my dreams because I want her to be happy & proud of me.

If anyone tells you that you won’t make it, or ‘that is a very competitive industry’, don’t listen to them. When you doubt yourself & your dreams, that is when you will fail. Always think positive, ignore negativity & believe in yourself. =]
