It’s been ages!

Hello,

I feel like not a lot of people follow this blog, so I feel like I am talking to myself! But if you do come across my blog, HEY!!!

Update on me:

I finished level two of my degree in early May. As I had a lot of spare time on my hand, I thought I would start blogging more. However, I have had the busiest two months. I’ll explain.

So in January, I applied for a job that my friend recommended me for. They called me back in April and asked me to come in for an interview! As you all know I hate my current job, I was ecstatic! So I went in, it went well. One week later I got a phone call telling me that I have got the job!
(But unfortunately, I am still stuck at my old job because the new one is not permanent yet.)
I started work there last week and I love it!! The people are nice, the job is interesting, I’m happy!

I know, a new job doesn’t make life overly busy. So here is the big news!

I am going to Korea to study for a month!! I’m not sure if you know, but I love East, North-East and South-East Asian culture!! So this is an amazing opportunity for me! My university is paying for tuition and accommodation, so all I pay for is flights and spending money!

I am very excited! SO… hopefully when I am out there, I will do vlogs and more blog posts since I will have something specific to talk about!

Anyway, it’s time for me to sleep as I have work tomorrow morning! But I will be updating you guys (if there is anyone there) very soon!

A night with Passion.

For those of you who have not read The Empty Suitcase Prjoect, please read (and watch the videos) first!

(Ignore my fatness!!)

It has been 2 years since Jeremy ‘Passion’ Manongdo visited London. Luckily he decided to come back this year! Jeremy is now doing a small tour called ‘The tour that could’, where he will visit; London, England; Gothenburg, Sweden; Oslo, Norway; Arnhem, Netherlands; The Hague, Netherlands;  Brussels, Belgium; Bern, Switzerland; Lyon, France; Roissy en Brie, France & back to London, England. The tour started on the 31st of March in London.

I purchased a ticket and went along to the show on Saturday. It was amazing.

I have been listening to Jeremy for about two years now. I’ve always thought he has one of the best voices I’ve heard, but he is something else live! When he was singing, the whole crowd was silent. He has the ability to make everybody stop and just listen.

He gave, what was to me, an emotional show. He performed; 32, Well Done & A Reason for Everything, which are all songs written for/about his family members. It was amazing to hear where his inspiration comes from since he inspires me so much.

He also sang some falsetto! He nailed Climax by Usher! Every girl (some of the guys too) went weak at the knees! (Including me! haha)

After Jeremy performed (with a demanded encore), a meet and greet was set up. Almost everyone in the venue waited behind to see him. I decided to wait until the end because then I feel a little less like a fan-girl and a little bit more like a professional (Yeah right! I just wanted more time with him!). I was shocked and super happy when he recognised me! He remembered my blog about the empty suitcase project and because AJ Rafael tweeted him to say that I am sweet (Eeeek!).

Anyway, I asked him if I can interview him next time he is back and London (the end of April) and he said yes! So, that will be coming to my blog early May! =]

So, now (more than ever), stay tuned!

AJ Rafael – Red Roses

AJ Rafael – Red Roses

Amazing? Yes! I’ve always loved AJ Rafael, but this album makes me love him like a fish loves water! AJs’ first full length album, Red Roses was produced by the talented (and sexy ;P) Jesse Barrera. And I give massive thanks to him for producing such an amazing album! AJ and Jesse have definitely created a master piece. You would think this is an album from an artist who is signed to a record label because it is so professional. The lyrics; the music; everything about this album is amazing!

If you’re already familiar with AJ, you would know that he has put songs on this album that we already know. But songs like, She Was Mine featuring Jesse Barrera, have been re-recorded and sound better than ever! Mess We’ve Made featuring the extremely talented Tori Kelly, is definitely a song to look out for!

Overall, this album is awesome. AJ has an amazing voice. And the fact that Jesse Barrera produced it is reason enough to purchase Red Roses! Definitely an amazing album and I recommend it to all of you!

‘The Empty Suitcase Project’.

=[ I’m sorry. I don’t know if anyone cares (or even noticed) that I haven’t blogged in two days. I have been stressed with uni and work so I wasn’t in the right mind set to think about what to write. So I promise 3 posts tonight!

But anyway!

Okay let me start from the start….lol

Basically two years ago I was in a group project where we had to make a documentary. I wanted to make the documentary on Inspiration. But the stupid lecturer thought it was a shit idea!! So we did it on Ska music…..

Soooo I was on YouTube and I came across a short documentary that  Jeremy ‘Passion’ Manongdo made. And here are the links. He posted them in four parts but please watch all four!!

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwmPTJClWd0
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxE0i9OlZyU&feature=related
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PszWnQXXWpM&feature=related
Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE-SOHdrzLU&feature=related

So I am greatly inspired by Quest =] (my first blog post on my tumblr ( http://dinadinosaur.tumblr.com )! Go read it if you haven’t!)

But the parts of the documentary that touched me the most was AJ Rafael and Wesley Chan.

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve met AJ, but I really felt what he was saying in the little clip of him. He has so much passion and is so talented. Every word that he said touched me because he is talented and he meant every word he said. But more importantly because I feel like he has the best (but hardest & saddest) reason to love and do what he loves best which is Music.

Wesley Chan read a letter that his mum wrote to him for graduation. The letter is touching and inspiring because now he is doing what he loves with the support of his family. This is the part of the documentary that I started to cry on! Very inspiring. =]

But what Jeremy did was just so amazing. He had a similar idea that I had but actually did it. And the fact that he has got so many people to donate money and material to improve the lives of children who don’t have school supplies.

This is a message I want to say to Jeremy.

You asked people what there opportunity was, if you ask the kids that you give all the supplies that you got people to donate and what you donated yourself, they will say that you gave them their opportunity. You are truly inspiring and not only have you inspired children who are less privileged, you have inspired a lot of people, like me, around the world, who have an idea. You achieved what you want to do, now you are inspiring me to do what I want to do. You are truly amazing, and I am so upset I didn’t get the chance to meet you when you visited London. So come back!!

=]

I hope the documentary touches you too!

After I wrote this post about a year ago on tumblr, I tweeted it to Jeremy and he sent me a message saying that my post touched him. It was on of the happiest days of my life! Not only because it was Jeremy that messaged me, but because in a way, I inspired him! That is the first time someone has told me that my post ‘sparked’ something in them.

I doubt that you will, but Jeremy, if you read this post, I have to tell you that you have inspired me again. Just by sending me a simple direct message on Twitter to say that you liked my post and it touched you. And when you visit London again, I would love to have the chance to interview you.

I really think everyone should watch The Empty Suitcase Project. And again, I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me.
