*rubs eyes* Am I seeing correctly?! 박재범 is coming to the UK?!

After years of tweeting him with my fellow British K-Pop fan (@bangtaehyung) Jay Park has finally decided to bless British soil with his presence.

Jay Park announced on Instagram that he will hold his first European tour in September 2013.

Although not much information has been released about dates and tickets I am glad to see that he has finally decided to come to Europe! =D

We are ready for you Jay!

City Hunter [Episode 20]

I recently started watching the Korean Drama, City Hunter. This drama is action packed, unpredictable and keeps you anticipating what will happen next! I suggest that you should watch it as it was very exciting and interesting!

I will not be reviewing City Hunter in this post. Instead, I am going to answer the question that I asked myself after watching the last episode, as I am sure it is a question that many people asked. I don’t know if anybody knows why the ending was so brief and rushed, but I will write this post anyway to inform the people who said they thought the same as me! The question is: Why did the series end like that?!
I will not give anything away about the drama because I hate it when people spoil stuff for me!

While I was in Seoul, I was lucky enough to meet somebody who worked behind the scenes of City Hunter. I can’t remember if he was the direct, producer or screen writer, but I know that he worked on City Hunter and spoke about it in a presentation. He was a guest lecture at the summer school that I was attending, and spoke about City Hunter and other dramas that he had worked on.

As City Hunter was a very popular drama, he let us in on a few secrets! He spoke about the budget of the drama and showed us how the scenes were edited, (he showed us that one of the opening scene with the people in the sea, was actually filmed in a swimming pool and then edited to look like it was out at sea!). He also spoke to us about the last episode of City Hunter.

We were told that, the actors involved with City Hunter, were stressed out. Instead of the whole drama, (or at least a majority of episodes) being filmed before airing, episodes were filmed just days before the episode was aired. This put a lot of stress on the cast of City Hunter and the editors, producer and directer. I remember him mentioning Lee Min Ho (of course I would remember this!). He mentioned to us, that the reason why the season ended so abruptly and without any explanation of what happened after the final action scene, was because a few of the actors did not turn up to the filming.

I personally was disappointed with the ending when I watched it and I forgot that I was told before why the ending was the way it is! I was disappointed because we don’t know if Lee Kyung-Hee fully recovers & what happened to Lee Yun-Seong? Is Kim NaNa crazy or did she really see him? What about the President?…

So I turned to twitter, and my followers who had also watched City Hunter, expressed the same disappointment as me! It wasn’t until around 3am, when I woke up from deep sleep that I remembered what the guest lecturer had told us at Hanyang University!

So I thought I’d write this blog post to inform my friends as this is too much information to write in a tweet! I hope they read it! =D

I just wish that Korean actors didn’t have so much stress put on them. The guest lecturer told us that the actors of City Hunter and the people who made City Hunter possible, did not get any days off while filming the drama. I know it is their job and they became actors on their own accord, but they are human and do deserve a day or two off every now and again!

A night with Passion. Pt. 2

Hello! It’s been a while! I’ve been too busy!! =[

However, with the stress of uni deadlines and work, I managed to go to see the awesome and super talented Jeremy Passion.

If you have not read The Empty Suitcase Project and A night with Passion, please read both of them!

As my ‘A night with Passion’ post mentioned, Jeremy Passion was in Europe doing a tour, ‘the little tour that could’. London was lucky enough to have Jeremy perform twice in one month!

The first show was amazing. I enjoyed myself so much and Jeremy was such a gentleman. I really didn’t know how he was going to come back at then end of the month and top himself.

The difference in venues was amazing. Although the La Berrique was an amazing venue for an intimate show, Coronet Cinema was a truly amazing and breathe taking venue. Although it was a larger venue, the show was still very intimate, perfect for Jeremy’s last leg of the little tour that could.

Putting the venue aside, Jeremy definitely topped himself. He managed to perform some of the same songs he did in the first show, but bettered them and made them sound different without changing the song. The band that were assisting Jeremy were amazing. Although it was very hard for everyone to keep their eyes of the too-handsome Jeremy, the band did not just blend in to the background.

The only similarity between the 31st of March and the 29th of April shows was that they were both inspirational and emotional.

Jeremy performed ‘Stephanie’, a song he wrote for a girl he met after a show who suffered from Lupus. Jeremy was touched by her story and wrote a song for her. When he performed ‘Stephanie’, the whole crowd fell silent. It was the most moving performance I have ever seen. I believe that even if that was the first performance you saw of Jeremy, you would fall in love with his music. In my opinion, the song showcases his talent of song writing like no other song.

Jeremy also made me go weak at the knees when he looked at me while singing a line from Lemonade. Jeremy, if you read this, I don’t know if you did it intentionally but you looked at me at both shows, while singing the same line, you made me feel like a crazy fan-girl! It’s not good! =P (You know I enjoyed it though!)

Bluey Robinson also put on an amazing set. It was the first time I heard of Bluey, and he made me want to hear more of him! Esmée Denters also made a brief appearance!

Jeremy also stayed behind after the show once again. I can speak for everybody when I say, we appreciated that!

Altogether, an amazing show.

I mentioned in my previous post, A night with Passion, that I would be interviewing Jeremy. Unfortunately, with his busy schedule, it was not possible for me to interview him. However, although I did want to interview him face to face, since there is something special about that, I know there are other ways of interviewing him. Also, although I was a little upset, I am now more inspired and motivated to get more into the role of a Journalist! I have always dreamed of going to America after I finish uni, and by watching amazing artists such as Jeremy, AJ Rafael, Victor Kim and JR Aquino, to name a few, I am more determined to move to America and become a Journalist! So I can interview the people who inspire me!

So Jeremy, when I come to the states, I will interview you! Whether you like it or not! =P

I forgot to tell you face to face how much you actually inspire me to make a difference, through what I have a passion for (Since I don’t have a good singing voice!).

To sum it all up, Jeremy is a huge inspiration and he definitely put on a great show, twice in London, on The Little Tour That Did.

Twitter

Today, I was looking at my mentions on twitter. I saw that more of the people I work with are on twitter. I couldn’t help but feel annoyed!

I left facebook because I hated too many people knowing my business. Now they are all joining Twitter, I’m annoyed! What are they even using twitter for? Socializing? People are making Twitter into the second facebook.

The funny thing is, when I mentioned Twitter to these people about two years ago, they would say that it was boring & they didn’t see the point. I miss them times!
