August 17th marks Black Cat appreciation day. As you all know, I have the most perfect cat in the world! He is fluffy, friendly, lazy, a little crazy and black! So although I am one day late, here is a post appreciating my black cat, Roari.

After trying to convince my mum for years to let me get a pet, my sister came home with the news that her friend has kittens that she needed to find homes for. We were offered the kittens free of charge as long as we cared for the kitten. Mum finally agreed and my sister and I went to pick up one of the kittens.
There were 3 kittens, all fluffy and adorable. Two were sleeping one was wondering around. The owners already decided they wanted to keep one of them, the one who was wondering around. My sister and I went over to see the two sleeping kittens. They woke up and I fell in love. One of them bit me and loved my sister. The other one loved me and bit my sister. He was the mischievous one who woke up his sister by biting her. He had to be the one we took home. A little bit fluffier than the others and he had slight tiger stripes.
He grew attached to me straight away. When he came home I was worried if he would miss his mum. I heard stories from friends saying that the kitten didn’t come out of the carrier for days or went out just to eat and then went back in. But my little Roari walked out of the carrier, meowed for his mum once and then carried on with life. He wondered around and then came to sleep on my lap.
Now my baby is 3 years old and as I am in Korea, I miss him so much everyday. Just seeing him wonder around and playing with my feet or playing hide and seek with me. He acts like a dog! Runs to the door when the post man comes, follows me around the house, plays fetch and even drinks water from the tap. He used to wake me up in the morning by kissing me, eating my hair or biting my nose. He takes care of my mum and tells us if the water is boiling or if the bath has over filled.
It is so hard for me to understand why people do not like black cats. Put all stupid superstitions aside, black cats are just the same as white or ginger cats. If anything they are more affectionate and have such a sophisticated look about them.
Appreciate all cats. No matter what colour, size, breed or personality. They are lovely creatures.
